Levenshulme old Library, Cromwell Grove, M19 3QE
A weekend of collaboration between Olive Branch Arts, Sandblast Arts and the Western Sahara Support Group to weave award winning photographs, spoken word, film, music and visual presentations to tell the story of Africa’s last colony that still exists to this day. We aim to give a voice to the dispossessed, to raise awareness and promote solidarity with a largely forgotten and displaced people. This is a story of compassion and admiration in recognition of the injustice the Sahrawi have faced but coupled with a respect for the strength and creativity they have shown in the face of such adversity.

The Holdovers
RMC Presents… ‘The Holdovers’ at Station South
Director Alexander Payne & lead actor Paul Giamatti link up again. There previous collaboration 'Sideways' is one of my favourite films, and the reviews for this one have been very positive. 97% on rotten tomatoes!
The holdovers follows a curmudgeonly instructor (Paul Giamatti) at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. Eventually he forms an unlikely bond with one of them, a damaged, brainy troublemaker and with the school's head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam.
